Adria wet-leases B757

Thursday, September 17, 2015

Adria Airways has concluded a short-term wet-lease of a 22 year-old Privilege Style Boeing 757 (registered EC-ISY). The aircraft, which has a capacity to seat 216 passengers in an all-economy class layout, arrived at Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport this morning and will operate charter flights for the Slovenian carrier over the next few days. Its first flight, from Ljubljana to Antalya, departed this afternoon. The aircraft is also expected to operate flights to Rhodes, Karpathos, Heraklion and Santorini over the next few days, before returning to the lessor over the weekend. It is the second time the Slovenian carrier has wet-leased larger jets this summer season. Last month it operated some flights with an Airbus A340-300. Adria has also been using a Fokker 100 on some its flights today, operated by the Croatian-based Trade Air. Last week, the airline returned a leased Airbus A320 to its owner, several weeks ahead of schedule. It was initially arranged for the aircraft to be used by the carrier until the end of the summer season.

It is the THIRD time the Slovenian carrier has wet-leased larger jets this summer season. In August also wet-leased B757-200 for two flights from Prishtina.

They had approximately 190 pax on the A340. What a waste of money.

Today it was everything but crowded: approx. around 30pax. (I believe the capacity it approx 100).
Indeed, the Crew spoke croatian which surprised me, because I thought I was flying with Adria and only when I boarded the bus in Ljubljana I saw that I have flown with Trade Air and not with Adria-there was a recording on Slovenian about safety.
Will touch on the Drinks and Food Story again: sure, for a flight of approx 50 min I totally "survived" without a coffee.. but the ticket Price was approx eur 380 - and for that Price I would expect coffee in the plane; furthermore, I didnt get any at the Airport because I was sort of late for the flight and then I though, ok, I'll have some in the plane.. only to forget that it was Adria.....
