Air Serbia - Etihad expand codeshare partnership

Tuesday, December 15, 2015

Air Serbia has expanded its reach in the Far East and Africa by adding Bangkok, Phuket and Nairobi to its codeshare agreement with Etihad Airways. The deal will see Air Serbia place its flight number and designator code onto four daily Etihad Airways services between Abu Dhabi and Bangkok, as well as on one daily flight between Abu Dhabi and Phuket. In addition, Air Serbia’s “JU” code will appear on daily Etihad flights between Abu Dhabi and the Kenyan capital of Nairobi. Air Serbia CEO, Dane Kondić, said, “We are excited to offer our guests one-stop connections to two popular destinations in Thailand, a country renowned for its fascinating culture, scenic beaches and balmy climate. With this expansion we are able to better capture the strong flow of travel from Serbia to Thailand by providing travellers with more choice, flexibility and convenience. We thank the civil aviation authorities of the Republic of Serbia and the Kingdom of Thailand, whose signing of a bilateral air services agreement in November 2015 has made this development in air connectivity possible”. Mr Kondić added, “Last but definitely not least, this expansion has extended our network reach to Nairobi, our first codeshare point in East Africa and an economic powerhouse in the region that is renowned for its safaris and game reserves”. Codeshare flights to Bangkok and Phuket can now be booked for travel from December 16, while services to Nairobi can be booked for travel from December 28.

Great job, as expected. Ideal for packages like AUH-BKK and HKT-AUH open-jaw plus one way Bangkok-HKT with lowcoster like Bangkok Airways.

Next up: Caribbean codeshares with AB!

With so many new codeshares, destination map would be nice on a new web site like the one from Elevate magazine.

ove vesti samo potvrdjuju da ASL moze leteti na istok iskljucivo preko AUH .

Kao što codeshare sa AB na ruti za JFK potvrđuje da može leteti na zapad samo preko DUS.

      Oh wait

Why does ASL keep calling their passengers "guests" in all they're official communication and social media (both in Serbian and in English)? It is really bizarre and comes off as very cheesy.

Actually it comes across extremely welcoming. Not cheesy whatsoever. But hey, that's your opinion.

"Guests" usually don't have to pay for the privilege of being guests and also they don't have any expectations for the service provided. When one is paying for a service, they definitely have certain expectations and are by definition not guests but paying customers.
