Air Serbia has entered into a V-Services Fixed Price Agreement to maintain its 21 V2500 engines. The V2500 engine is offered through IAE International Aero Engines, an aero engine consortium led by Pratt & Whitney, in collaboration with Pratt & Whitney Aero Engines International, Japanese Aero Engines Corporation and MTU Aero Engines. "The maintenance of our aircraft engines is a top priority for us, as it helps to ensure safety for all of our passengers", Air Serbia’s CEO, Dane Kondić, said. He added, "Air Serbia plays a fundamental role in the development of Serbia's travel and tourism industry and it is important for us to be leaders in safe and comfortable air travel. Efficient and effective maintenance is a key component of our success". President of Pratt & Whitney for Commercial Engines, Greg Gernh, said, "Air Serbia is a burgeoning leader in the European aviation industry and we are excited to support their continued success with this new services agreement. Supporting an aircraft fleet under a Pratt & Whitney program provides operators with predictable maintenance costs and helps increase the value of the engine to our customers".
Any news on engine-choice on the Neo's?
INN-NS
For A321 PW offers more thrust (35K) than CFM (32.9K).
DeleteSorry for sounding ignorant, but why are they maintaining 21 engines? Since there are 2 engines per plane, shouldn't that number be even, and not odd? Or is there one spare engine lying around?
ReplyDeleteye there is one spare engine kept as complete on hangar deck for quick replacement if needed, just like spare tire in your car.
DeleteThanks! :)
