Croatia Airlines wet leases MD-80

Wednesday, July 15, 2015

Croatia Airlines has wet leased a Danish Air Transport (DAT) MD-80 aircraft after one its Airbus A319 jets went out of service. The airline has been forced to wet lease the 165-seat MD-80 as a replacement and will also make use of Trade Air’s Fokker 100 jet on certain flights. The 25-year old MD-80 has been operating on flights from Dubrovnik to Berlin, Split to London Gatwick and Zagreb to Amsterdam.

If you look at the comments passengers are writing on Croatia Airlines facebook page they are horrible. One of the passengers even mentions getting stuck on this DAT plane.

Wasn't Inex Adria's MD-80 the one that crashed in Ajaccio/Corsica?

You are as much Philip Russel as I am Stojko Drndic. Or maybe you changed the name like Daniel Snowden did?

What an irony, after many comments against 28-29 year old Boeings 737 used as a replacement for mainline Airbus planes at another ex yu airline, now this humiliation with 25 year old plane, almost the same solution at both companies! O tempora o mores!

What a bunch of spoiled brats! It's not that they lease a DC-3 or Convair 440. MD-80 is a fine plane for the job. Go to your mommy and cry because it's not a 20 year old Airbus like glorious "air serbiahad" has.... And this is coming from a Serb, btw.
