Tuesday, March 22, 2016

Two explosions have rocked Brussels' main international airport this morning with many feared injured. There are also reports of casualties. Both Adria Airways and Croatia Airlines were operating services to the city this morning. Adria's flight from Ljubljana, scheduled to land at 08.35, was forced to divert to Liege. The blasts at the airport occurred just before 08.00, local media report. On the other hand, a Croatia Airlines flight from Zagreb, which was scheduled to land at 08.45 has diverted to Amsterdam. An Adria flight from Tirana, scheduled to touch down at 09.25 has continued on to Paris instead. Normally, its flights from Tirana to the French capital operate via Brussels. Brussels Airport tweeted that there have been two explosions and said that "the building" is being evacuated. They also said all airport operations have been suspended for today. The Belgian government has yet to confirm the number of deaths and injuries. The Belgian federal prosecutor has confirmed that the explosions were terror attacks. Belgium has now raised its terror threat to its highest level.

      Ok, thanks.

My friend was supposed to fly BRU-JFK on DL today. She checked-in, gave her bag and went outside for a smoke. As she lit her cigarette the bombs went off!

      Smoking literally saved her life.

Not to be too political, but this comes with bad policy in place towards a number of issues all regarding the big and famous "Syria". Hit the thumbs up (write +1) if you agree. Politics just has to be in this blogs since it will reshape the future of air travel

also this is what happens when you provide financial and arms race to "moderate rebels" and other fanatics

Why do you think its gonna reshape the future of air travel? Even including all terrorist attacks and accidents involving civil airports and aircraft, travelling by air still remains the safest by far. Fastest as well. Remember, there was a terrorist attack on SAW few months ago, there was one or two casualties, and none was panicking afterwards.

sorry I was not specific. Look at what is happening in Turkey due to their friendly policy towards terrorists and unfriendly policies towards Kurds. While IST is going strong, it remains to be seen how coastal airports will do. I was trying to state that in general politics is vital part of aviation. Formation of Air Serbia was 100% pure politics. Tourism can flourish or tumble due to terrorist attacks as well. Look at Egypt and Tunisia. Yes, some European idi*ts will still go there due to cheap prices and then when shit breaks tey will ask the government for help by sending taxpayers paid planes.
