Kosovo and Qatar ink Air Service Agreement

Wednesday, December 9, 2015

Kosovo and Qatar have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the implementation of a Bilateral Air Service Agreement. The two sides hope the move will lead to the establishment of flights between Kosovo and Qatar, with the agreement foreseeing an unlimited number of passenger and cargo services between the two. The Kosovo Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) notes that Qatar Airways maintains flights to both Zagreb and Belgrade and is undertaking feasibility studies for other destinations in the region. Both the Kosovo CAA and the Civil Aviation Authority of Qatar have agreed to hold talks in Pristina next spring in order to further boost ties between the two regulators.

Interesting. A combination of SKP-PRN positioning flights with Doha seems to be a viable solution.

  2. PRN and SKP are too close to combine. I would be surprised if they did that. The good thing is that both Kosovo and Macedonia are happy to give rights to QR to sell tickets to third countries and that may help reach a positive conclusion, particularly if a route that does not exist currently is opened, say to SJJ.
