Thursday, September 3, 2015

Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport handled its millionth passenger for the year yesterday, an impressive 23 days ahead of 2014. During the first eight months of the year, Slovenia's busiest airport welcomed 997.516 travellers, up 11%. The millionth passenger this year, Mihael Štefančič, arrived on an Adria flights from Warsaw.  Ljubljana Airport’s growth over the past few months was fuelled by both Adria Airways and foreign carriers such as Turkish Airlines, Air Serbia and Montenegro Airlines, which increased their flight offering to the Slovenian capital this summer. Furthermore, Swiss International Air Lines launched services from Zurich earlier this year. In 2016, LOT Polish Airlines will inaugurate six weekly flights from Warsaw to Ljubljana on March 1.
