LOT satisfied with Belgrade route

Tuesday, April 19, 2016

LOT Polish Airlines says it is satisfied with the performance of its Warsaw - Belgrade service, which it resumed in January this year, noting that it now operates daily flights between the two capitals, up from the previous four per week. At a presentation in Belgrade today, Krystian Rolla, LOT's Sales Manager for Europe & Middle East, said the passenger structure on these flights is mixed, with both transfer and point to point travellers using the service. "There is no dominant category of passengers. It varies based on the day of the week", Mr Rolla said. "Among those transferring through Warsaw, the majority of passengers connect onto flights to Toronto and several points in western Europe", he added. LOT competes against Air Serbia on the route, although the two carriers codeshare on each others' flights. "There is enough room for both carriers on this route. We view this as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation to the mutual benefit of both sides, rather than competition", Hanna Dalewsk, Poland's ChargĂ© d’affaires in Belgrade noted. In January, LOT resumed services to Zagreb, while flights to Ljubljana were launched in March. This summer, the airline will also run seasonal services to both Split and Zadar.

Great airline. Happy to see them doing well and expanding across ex-Yu.

Someone mentioned more flights to BEG, any news on that?

  3. LO is not much cheaper than JU although their most favorable fare excludes checked baggage. Anyway, due to reasonable pricing WAW is a great idea for a city break.

Both are rather affordable but LO is great if you are businessman going to Warsaw. However, hope they introduce a morning departure out of BEG.
