Lufthansa boosts Zagreb flights

Tuesday, December 29, 2015

The German national carrier Lufthansa will double its flights from Frankfurt to Zagreb next year with the addition of a second daily service. The airline will add an evening departure from the German city, with the flights to return from Zagreb the next morning. Both the early afternoon and evening departures from Frankfurt will be operated with the 84-seat Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft. The additional seven weekly frequencies come into effect from March 27, 2016. The evening departure will be codeshared by SAS Scandinavian Airlines. Notably, Croatia Airlines will operate an evening service from Frankfurt to Zagreb next summer departing just 35 minutes prior to Lufthansa's new service on the same route.

Hmmm interesting - two daily flights but pretty much same or less capacity then now because the afternoon flight is currently operated by either A319s or A320s. They seem to be targeting OU and its evening flight.

      don't think so.
The morning departure from ZAG is interesting for transatlantic connex..
I suppose the afternoon flight will be an Airbus in high season.

Looks like that someone would like to rid off OU

Same like SPU flights - LH and OU flying often within few mins from each other.

  4. I dont think that they necessarily "want to get rid of OU". It would be an overstatement.

Unfortunately this schedule just shows that either LH just doesnt care that much about OU or that there is a significant lack of coordination between these two Star Alliance partners.
