Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency, Rosaviatsia, has warned airlines registered in the country to step up security measures if flying to any of the 47 nations it has placed on a security watch list. Among them are Montenegro and Macedonia. “Taking into account the existing risks and threats, coming from extremist organisations, Rosaviatsia is developing a set of security measures designed to prevent the illegal interference in the work of airlines and airports”, the regulator said in a statement. The list came just hours after Russia’s federal security service chief told President Vladimir Putin that explosives brought down the Russian-operated Airbus A321 over the Sinai province in Egypt on October 31. All 224 passengers and crew on board lost their lives.
Rosaviatsia's aviation watch list includes: Austria, Algeria, Albania, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Indonesia, Italy, India, Iraq, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Libya, Lebanon, Morocco, Malaysia, Macedonia, Moldova, Myanmar, Montenegro, Pakistan, Portugal, the Philippines, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Syria, Sudan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Tunisia, the United Kingdom, United States of America, United Arab Emirates, Uganda and Uzbekistan.
The list - while theoretically a smart thing to do - seems to be more politically motivated than anything else. Half of western Europe, the UK and the US on it.
ReplyDeleteThe point of this list should be to focus on countries where airport security might be compromised.
LOL, are you serious? Probably you are a political expert and aviation security expert too. Oh sorry, no, you are just another internet bullshit teller.
DeletePutin Troll detected!
DeleteNot detected, European pissed trolls are. You must know the stuff to talk about.
DeleteIf you don't know, than do not be idiot to speak bullshit
Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro... hm, hm, hm
ReplyDeleteThis doesn't make any sense whatsoever. UK, Germany, Austria, Italy, Macedonia- looks more like a list of US allies in Europe.
ReplyDeleteThis list means absolutely zero!
