Niš Constantine the Great Airport aims to handle between 70.000 and 100.000 passengers this year. The airport welcomed 4.696 travellers on 32 flights this January compared to almost none the same month last year. It is currently served by Wizz Air from Basel and Malmo, however, local authorities say they are in talks with other budget carriers as well. Turkey's Pegasus Airlines has been tipped to start flights to Niš and is believed to be in talks with the airport. Niš Airport handled 36.258 passengers in 2015, an increase of 2615% compared to the year before.
