Niš Airport in talks with Spanish airline

Monday, July 27, 2015

The Regional Development Agency for Southern Serbia has said Niš Constantine the Great Airport is in talks with a Spanish low cost carrier over potential flights to the city. The head of the Agency, Aleksandra Lugović, says the carrier has significant coverage in Western Europe. Furthermore, Ms Lugović notes the airport is in talks with a low cost “giant”. Niš Airport has contacted over forty airlines following Wizz Air’s successful debut in the south-east Serbian city last month.

It should be Vueling, if not maybe Iberia Express wich is less probable....

I also thought that it was Volotea but it's not a low cost "giant", far from it...

You misunderstood. They are talking to a Spanish LCC + low cost "giant". They are unrelated.

      Rumunija? Madjarska?

Iz Beograda se direktno leti za Barselonu sa Vueling-om.

Не верујем да ће ико из Београда ићи чак до Скопља да би летео за Барсу. Има Свис за 200 евра из Београда.

This is awesome news! I hate to get flights via Munich, Frankfurt or Paris from Belgrade, and always have to travel BUD and pay another 50 eur for combi transfer.. Hopefully is MAD or BCN :)

Why don't you use the train? Those combis are such a rip-off.

I also have the impression that it is Volotea. However, this doesn't mean that they will offer flights to Spain.
Furthermore, I think that Niš should only announce when everything materializes. Sending someone an email, or saying hello to someone doesn't equate to being 'in talks'. Seems to be too much hoopla for nothing. Do something. Stop talking.

  6. Vueling has bases in Paris, Amsterdam, and Brussels. Those could work.

No, Vueling has only to bases, BCN and FCO. No way that Volotea will be interested in flying to INI. They don't fly to BCN and MAD at all.
