Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport has recorded strong passenger growth so far this year. In September alone it handled 16.052 travellers, an increase of 72.3% compared to the same month in 2014. Overall this year, Ohrid Airport registered 91.453 passengers, up over 40%. Growth was fuelled by Wizz Air, which this year launched seasonal flights from London Luton and year-long services from Basel. Besides Wizz Air, Ohrid is also served by Helvetic Airways from Zurich on a year-long basis and TUI Belgium from Brussels via Skopje during the summer months. This year, Corendon Airlines and Air Berlin operated charters to the lake-side city from Amsterdam and Vienna respectively. In 2016, Arkia Israel Airlines will launch two weekly charter flights from Tel Aviv starting June 1.
