Pristina Airport records strong growth

Wednesday, August 12, 2015

Pristina Airport has recorded double digit passenger growth in July. In a statement, the Civil Aviation Authority of Kosovo said, “The month of July was distinguished by a significant increase in traffic at Pristina Airport. After continuous monthly increases during the first half of the year, ranging between 7 - 14%, the July increase amounted to 19%, or about 30.000 extra passengers compared to July 2014”. July is traditionally Pristina Airport’s second busiest of the year. In 2014 Pristina Airport handled 1.404.775 passengers, making it the fifth busiest in the former Yugoslavia. Only a year earlier, the airport was the third busiest in the region, however, in 2014 it suffered as a result of Belle Air Europe, a Pristina-based airline which declared bankruptcy. The airport has staged a strong recovery so far this year, as illustrated by its latest traffic figures. During the January - July period, it handled almost 883.000 passengers.
