Pula Airport completes terminal overhaul

Pula Airport has upgraded its passenger terminal, investing some 600.000 euros of its own funds in refurbishing the building. The work was carried out during the winter season and completed early last week. "International departures have been adapted to Schengen standards and we are currently the only airport in Croatia that is fully prepared for Schengen travel", Pula Airport's General Manager, Svemir Radmilo, said. Plans to refurbish the airport were initially made in 1987 but were never completed due the break-up of Yugoslavia. In 2011, Pula Airport's management announced plans to upgrade the departure lounge and provide additional retail space for shops and cafes, which has now been completed.
