Pula Airport hit by passenger decline

Wednesday, September 2, 2015

Pula Airport has recorded a 7.6% passenger decline from January until mid-August, when compared to the same period in 2014. The cancellation of Ryanair's service from Beauvais fuelled the decline, while instability on the Russian and Ukrainian markets also had an impact on passenger figures. In total, the number of passengers travelling from France to Pula declined by 52.2%, from Russia by 46.4% and from Ukraine by 8.4%. On the other hand, markets which saw an improvement include Germany, where numbers were up 12.8%, the Netherlands by 11.6%, Belgium by 11%, Serbia by 7% and Sweden by 3.8%. Between January and mid-August, Pula Airport handled 238.165 passengers. In 2014, the airport welcomed 382.992 travellers through its doors for the entire year, making it Croatia's fifth busiest airport.

What about UK/ROI markets? Was I hallucinating flights to STN, LGW (new U2 route), BHX, BRS and DUB this summer?

Never saw so many Brits at the airport...
