Qatar Airways to send A330 to Belgrade

Thursday, August 13, 2015

Qatar Airways plans to operate a wide-body Airbus A330-200 aircraft on its scheduled service from Doha to Belgrade via Sofia on two occasions over the next month. Magdalena Andrić, Qatar Airways’ Marketing & E-Commerce Executive for Serbia, has confirmed to EX-YU Aviation News that the airline currently plans to operate the 260-seat jet on August 16 and on September 1 for commercial reasons. Its afternoon arrival in the Serbian capital will be ideal for spotters to catch glimpse of the aircraft. Qatar Airways runs daily flights from Doha to Belgrade via Sofia with its much smaller, single-aisle, Airbus A320.

It was reported yesterday that aircraft is being send due to a big group traveling to SOF. Also a few months ago somebody said that BEG usually gets around 50 pax per flight. Has anything changed in terms of LF?

LOL it was as clear as this day that this can only be thanks to SOF.
No airline can fill a widebody from anywhere to a landlocked Russian colony which cant attract any serious tourists nor businesspeople. SOF is a capital to a country which is neither landlocked nor a Russian puppet state, so they can have a glimpse of prosperity, although not spectacular.

Anonymous at 5:36, why does it matter it is due to SOF? I for one am glad that at least some enthusiasts will be able to see airplane with QR logo that otherwise is not really to be seen in this part of the world. Why make fun of BEG? I am from ZAG, am not envy, why should I be, I see it as great opportunity for enthusiast (which you are not so cannot appreciate it) to enjoy. If I were in BEG, would definitely pay a visit to the airport.

and why is this news? I mean, it's not a scheduled equipment change and BEG has a lot of visits by A330 and other heavies, not to mention regular A300 by Iran and A330 by THY cargo, And let's not forget numerous daily DC-10s and 747s back in the day when we were a country, not a tribe like today...

Why not inform the people that might be interested? Even though it is not permanent change, it is nice to see it, not everyday occasion for passenger version.

Neverovatno kako ovakva vest može da izazove gomilu negativnih i posprdnih komentara?! I to u delu sveta gde pojava "velikih ptica" u redovnom saobraćaju nije baš redovna pojava...
