Serbia and the Dominican Republic have inked a Memorandum of Understanding relating to commercial air transport at the ICAO Air Services Negotiation Event currently taking place in Antalya, Turkey. The two sides said the Memorandum will be followed up by an Air Services Agreement. In the document, Air Serbia has been named as the designated carrier for potential scheduled and charter flights between the two countries.
mrtvo slovo na papiru.. ali ajde kao da nesto cujemo novo o asl-u..
ReplyDeleteEpic win for Serbian aviation!
ReplyDeleteThis is great if they can attract some of the European tourists that go to the Dominican to get away from the winter. A quick stop in Belgrade and on to sunny Dominican Republic.
ReplyDeleteASL might be paving its way to improve winter utilization of its future widebody fleet. Aircraft having slack in winter would have tourist trips to places like Punta Cana, Phuket or Cuba, so thats why these agreements would possibly be useful
DeleteThat was my first thought, but look at LOT experience doing the same thing, and from much larger country with higher GDP than Serbia. I have been to Punta Cana, Cuba and other locations many times in the winter season and guests of Serbian origin travelling from USA/Canada far outnumber visitors who travelled from Serbia to those locations.
DeleteNow if ASL had 2 (or more) widebodies for summer season (say for JFK and YYZ), they could then keep one for winter North American ops and send second one to Etihad to help where needed, simiar to Muscat runs ASL performed on behalf of EY last winter.
