Serbia and Switzerland ink air agreement

Monday, April 20, 2015

Serbia and Switzerland have signed a new Air Service Agreement which clears the way for more flights between the two countries. The Serbian Minister for Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Zorana Mihajlović, said, “This opens the opportunity to have more flights from various cities in Serbia and Switzerland, which will be agreed upon between the respective airlines”. Ms. Mihajlović added that the new agreement will insure a more liberal aviation policy between the two countries. The Swiss Ambassador to Serbia, Jean-Daniel Ruch, said the agreement illustrates the close ties Switzerland and Serbia share. Currently, Swiss International Air Lines operates flights from Zurich and Geneva to Belgrade, while Air Serbia maintains services to Zurich. In addition, Wizz Air operates flights from Basel to Belgrade and will introduce services from the Swiss city to Niš this summer, while easyJet also maintains flights from Geneva to the Serbian capital.
