SkyGreece Airlines, which operated flights from Toronto to Zagreb during the summer, before it halted all operations, will not be returning to the Croatian capital next year as it has formally declared bankruptcy, a court-appointed monitor said yesterday in Montreal. The Canada-based airline cancelled all of its flights in late August, saying it was due to technical issues and financial setbacks resulting from the Greek economic crisis, but did not elaborate. At the time, the airline described the move as a temporary measure. Despite this, Zagreb will have nonstop flights to Toronto next year, as Canada's Air Transat will launch the route once per week on June 14.
Who thought that it was a good idea to launch transatlantic flights with only one aircraft?
ReplyDeleteIt was a disaster waiting to happen.
Air Serbia thinks they can
Deletecomparing JU to SkyGreece is stupid at best. That B767 was old, had maintenance issues and the company was alone. It had no partner airlines, no codeshares, no alliance, nothing.
DeleteJU will at least have partners in JFK (AB, AZ, EY, 9W) who could transport pax, all have the A330 type in their fleet with 9W having excess ac. The A332 JU will take on should be at least half the age of the SkyGreece B767. JU is using it direct to JFK which means less take off and landings for the jet, less wear and tear for the tyres, in short more economically.
Zato JU i leti 5 puta nedeljno.Dva dana nedeljno je vise nego dovoljno za redovno odrzavanje.
Delete...pardon, planira da leti 5 puta nedeljno ;)
