SunExpress plans Croatia expansion

Friday, October 30, 2015

SunExpress, the Antalya-based joint venture of Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines, will launch a number of new routes next year which will include destinations in Croatia. In the summer of 2016, SunExpress will expand its network by 9% to 119 airports in what it describes as “the largest offering in the company’s history”. There will be flights to 24 new destinations in Morocco, Bulgaria, Egypt, Spain, Greece, Croatia, Italy and Tunisia, as well as more flights from Germany to the Canary Islands and various other destinations. The German-Turkish carrier will expand its fleet with 45 Boeing 737-800s and six long-haul Airbus A330s by 2021 to cope with network growth. SunExpress entered the Croatian market in 2015 with scheduled seasonal flights from Leipzig to Dubrovnik and Split.
