Turkish Airlines schedules Dubrovnik service

Friday, March 11, 2016

Turkish Airlines has scheduled its new flights from Istanbul's Ataturk Airport to Dubrovnik, which will commence on May 12. The service will operate three times per week, each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday with an Airbus A319 aircraft. Flights are currently planned to run on a seasonal summer basis but are likely to be extended into the winter as well. The service comes two years after it was initially announced. "This route is a result of drawn out negotiations which involved many representatives from Croatia's southernmost region. The reason there were no flights to Turkey over the past few years was the introduction of visas for Turkish citizens, which complicated their travel to Croatia. This happened when Croatia entered the European Union (2013). However, there is room for great optimism due to the large number of Turkish tourists which could return to Dubrovnik now", the airport said in a statement earlier. Tickets for the new Istanbul - Dubrovnik flights are already on sale. Further details can be found here.
