Zadar anticipates passenger decline

Thursday, September 17, 2015

Zadar Airport expects to handle 10 - 20.000 fewer passengers in 2015 compared to last year after its numbers began declining from June onwards. Irena Ćosić, the airport's Managing Director, says the declining figures come as a result of Nordic tour operator Scandjet relocating its operations from Zadar to Rijeka this year, as well as fewer services run by low cost carrier Ryanair and EuroLOT's bankruptcy, all of which have affected the airport. In July, Zadar saw its passenger numbers subtract 17%, while August figures were down 2% on last year. In 2014, Zadar handled a record 496.697 travellers.
