Trending in March


April has arrived and it will be a busy one for all carriers and airports in the former Yugoslavia as the holiday rush begins with Easter falling on the same date in both the Julian and Gregorian calendars. EX-YU Aviation News is also preparing for you a month a several exclusives, so stay tuned. Meanwhile, the site saw its strongest March since its launch nine years ago. During the month we brought you live coverage of the opening of Zagreb Airport's new passenger terminal and its media reveal on the site, as well as live coverage of the ATW Airline Industry Awards in New York on the EX-YU Instagram page where Air Serbia was on Tuesday the recipient of the Market Leader Award.

The most popular story was VLM Slovenia's plans to open a base in Maribor and launch eleven new routes. It was closely followed by news from this Monday that Hainan Airlines will introduce services between Beijing and Belgrade, as well as invest in the Serbian aviation industry, which was later confirmed by both the airline and the Serbian government.

A total of 3.634 comments were left on articles published during the month, while visitor numbers increased 46.3% compared to March 2016. During the month, the majority of visitors accessed the site from Serbia, followed by Croatia, Slovenia, Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Switzerland and Australia.
