Ljubljana Airport begins terminal tender

Fraport Slovenia, the operator of Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport, has launched tender procedures for the construction of its new multi million euro passenger terminal. The deadline for the submission of bids has been set for November 15. Construction is due to begin next year and scheduled for completion in 2020. The new facility will be located to the north-west of the existing terminal. The two will be joined to form a single functioning unit. The tender documents require for the contractor to build the new structure, undertake partial construction work in the existing terminal, build road infrastructure around the new facility and partially demolish the administrative building. The new 10.000 square metre terminal, valued at sixteen million euros, will feature a departures hall with 22 check-in desks, five security lanes, three baggage reclaim carousels, a new baggage sorting area, a large duty free shop, a new premium lounge, as well as new food and beverage facilities.

I doubt that the pictures above represent the final version. The render of the terminal in the first picture does not add up with the plans in the second and third picture (e.g. the hallway and the inner "park" are missing from the plans).

Fraport decided to keep final project documentation (including floor plans) a secret for "security reasons". A bit surprising since it was publicly available in 2012 when the original tender for T2 was published.

Not a moment too early. LJU airport has never, but really never been user friendly.

Yes, I'm aware of that. In 2012, the rules on public procurement did not allow the contracting entities to limit access to the tender documentation, as they do now. My comment was only referring to the fact, that the pictures obviously do not show the same building at that at least one of them is incorrect.

The floor plans were released by Fraport Slovenia in 2017 and are available for download on the airport's website as part of tender documentation.

@15.19 you can actually see in the picture that these are Fraport's floor plans. It even says the date. Has nothing to do with 2012.

These floor plans were attached to a previous tender (30/06/2017) as a concept design. Final floor plans are not released, but based on final renders they should be significantly different.
