NEWS FLASH
Qatar Airways has extended the utilisation of its wide-body aircraft on flights between Doha and Zagreb as Croatia advanced to the quarter-finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup being held in the Qatari capital. As previously reported, the airline, which is the official carrier of the sporting event, was initially to end its wide-body deployment on the route on December 8. However, Qatar Airways will now substitute its narrow-body A320 for the Boeing 777-300ER on December 8, December 10 and December 11. All three will be operated by the B777s featuring the airline’s signature Q-suite product in the business class cabin. Further equipment changes remain possible and will depend on Croatia’s upcoming performance at the World Cup, with its match taking place on December 9. Qatar Airways will maintain daily flights to Zagreb for the duration of the sporting event, until December 18, after which services will revert back to four weekly.
