Air Montenegro is readying for the next phase of its development which will usher in online check-in for passengers, fares without baggage, the possibility of purchasing connecting flights, and see the airline ink codeshare agreements with other carriers. “In recent times we have set strong foundations for the further improvement of our service. We are currently in the process of introducing a new reservation system, which will enable us to start interlining with other airlines, resulting in a greater choice of destinations for our passengers. In addition, in the coming period, passengers will have access to online check-in and a frequent flyer program, while we are also in the process of establishing a call centre to provide a better service to travellers”, Air Montenegro’s CEO, Mark Anžur, said. He noted the airline is also working on improving its onboard service. “We recently introduced a new snack, gingerbread with fig, and are trying to elevate the onboard experience with better in-flight catering”.
Air Montenegro handled some 54.500 passengers during the first quarter of the year, some 2.500 fewer travellers than during the same period last year. The carrier has blamed the result on softer demand for its Podgorica - Istanbul service following Pegasus Airlines’ entry on the route, which will be forced to discontinue flights between the two cities as of tomorrow. However, Air Montenegro is expected to have generated a profit of some 240.000 euros over the three-month period. The airline anticipates growing its passenger numbers by some 35% this year to 650.000. The carrier recently introduced a new service between Tivat and Izmir with a further three new routes to follow this summer.
Air Montenegro also plans to finally ink codeshare agreements with other carriers, which will be made possible after it transitions to its new reservation system. “The new reservation system will enable us to sign codeshare agreements. We will be able to sell tickets from Montenegro to New York through Turkish Airlines when we sign a codeshare agreement with Turkish, or through Lufthansa”, Air Montenegro’s President of the Board of Director, Tihomir Dragaš, said. Late last year, Air Serbia expressed hope it would ink a mutual codeshare agreement with its Montenegrin counterpart.

ReplyDeleteThat is untrue. Their provider - Flexflight absolutely offers the ability to sign interline and even codeshares. Ive even seen airlines implement FF programs through it. Anzur is either missinformed or lying. Plus, wasnt he saying a year ago they were about to sign with JU, yet nothing happened?
DeleteTheir provider is not flexflight (flexflight is a charter airline that just provided its code for ticket sales) it was/is Worldticket which itself is falling apart.
DeleteActually its not WT, i think the parent is now called Go7. Same point still applies anyway - Go7 still offers all of the above services through FlexFlight. Still not good, still no codeshares and now even blatant protectionism from foreign carriers

DeleteReservation system is different from codeshare agreement. Actually, after signing one, you can enable reservation system GDS to sell an airline tickets on the partners aircrafts
