NEWS FLASH

Skopje Airport welcomed two wide-body aircraft over the weekend as the city hosts the 2025 European Youth Summer Olympic Festival (EYOF), taking place from July 20 to 26. As previously reported, Turkish Airlines operated a 329-seat Airbus A350-900 jet on its scheduled Istanbul - Skopje service last Saturday, marking the first time the airport has accommodated this aircraft type. The A350 is scheduled to return on July 27. On Sunday, Ethiopian Airlines operated a charter flight from Paris to Skopje using its 315-seat Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, transporting participants and officials attending the event. The eighteenth edition of EYOF sees 49 nations competing in fourteen sports.

Beautiful photos. The Terminal looks tiny compared to these aircrafts!

I have flown A350's of Ethiopian Airlines several times and they are really comfortable. Service is great too. No wonder it's the best airline in Africa.

Yeah, finally got some flights from TLV, too. Shame that our government doesn't do more to attract tourists from Israel to Macedonia. Tirana seems to be getting lots of them...

It gave the best offer to operate the flight. The plane was just used during a turnaround at CDG. Made no impact on their schedule.

You can see that the tail reaches to the middle of taxiway. That part of apron is blocked for other planes.

Other planes in this situation coming from the other side and use all the bridges regulary without any problems. Which airport in Ex yu is build and planned for wide bodies except Belgrade this days ? The point is that Skopje still can accomodate wide bodies wuthout any problems ;)

PRN can accommodate 4 wide bodies at the main apron at the same time without blocking any taxi way (although one of them without jet bridge). The airport is designed to accommodate for both, wide and narrow. Each pair of narrow stands can be used by a wide body.

Skopje can accomodate also wide bodies but not on the bridges. You telling me that Pristina can in same accomodate 4 wide bodies on bridges ? Seriously dude ? When Edelweiss A350 land in Pristina around him there was no other plane attached on bridge. Skopje still have alot fo place on the parking lot to accomocate any wide bodies.

PRN is designed to accommodate for 4 wide bodies at the main apron in front the terminal. 3 of those can be connected to terminale by jet bridges. One can be only be used by a bus gate. They can be all used simultaneously if needed, they do not block any taxi way and airport can work normally with no restrictions. The layout of the stands is similar to IST, allowing flexibility. Beside these 4 stands, PRN has also two other wide body stands for bus gates. One at the old terminal and one in the south of airport, close to helipads.

As I tell you above SKP airport jet bridges are not planned and made for wide bodies aircrafts, thats why they were parked on the right side so any other regular planes to use their jet bridges from the left side not behind A350 parked position.PRN airport is new SKP is 15 years old ;)
SKP still can serve wide bodies on the big parking lots near the cargo center but with bus gates not bridges.

Well you were saying that airports in EXYU are not planned for wide bodies. PRN is. As for the age, new SKP was opened in Sep 2011. New PRN was opened in Oct 2013.
