Wizz Air discontinues Niš service

Low cost carrier Wizz Air will discontinue flights between Bratislava and Niš on February 26, just two months after the service was introduced. The route had been launched as a replacement for the airline’s Vienna - Niš operation, as Wizz Air winds down services from the Austrian capital. Passengers holding bookings beyond February have been notified of the cancellation by email, while ticket sales have also been suspended. The service had initially been scheduled to operate four times per week.

      @13:58 Seven hour car trip on a highway, bus services, soon to be introduced quick railway link, four daily flights by two airlines during winter season... and you are desperate? Why don't you move from Vienna to Australia or other distant places with large diaspora, where none of those alternatives will ever exist?

    I believe the PRN route will also be cut or discontinued altogether. Early morning flights from BTS are not suitable substitutes for VIE.

      Of course there is no demand, who needs Bratislava when you have Vienna 4 times a week with Ryanair from Niš?

      Looks like MOL was right about W6, let’s hope he is wrong. On a flip side, w6 is still market leader when it comes to CASK ex fuel. FR has eaten W6 on VIE route!

      INI just had its busiest January on record. It is drowning because Wizz Air could not compete on Bratislava route against Ryanair which operates flights to Vienna?
