Commenting on the construction progress, the CEO of airport operator TAV Macedonia, Nejat Kurt, said, “I would like to emphasise that while construction works are ongoing, airport operations continue uninterrupted. Flights and passenger services are running smoothly despite the extensive reconstruction activities. This reconstruction project, in which TAV Macedonia is investing 2.7 million euros, will give Ohrid Airport a completely new look and significantly enhance the passenger experience by providing greater comfort, efficiency and convenience. It will also create better working conditions for our employees and institutional partners, including the Police and Customs authorities. The modernisation of Ohrid Airport will further position the Ohrid Lake region and Macedonia as one of Europe's most attractive and accessible tourist destinations”.

I am flying to OHD in two weeks. Looking forward to seeing this!
ReplyDeleteI bet you will like it and you will enjoy this small lovely airport🥰
DeleteNot gonna lie. Doesn't look great...
ReplyDeleteAverage Lidl looks better than this.
Deleteit is not a supermarket
DeleteNobody ask you do you like it or not as first
DeleteSecond it is about expansion the available space and to get more usable space , it is not question of luxury design ;)
I really think it’s great that investment is being made in the airport, as this has been overdue for a long time. However, when I read the figures regarding the expansion, I don’t quite understand the rationale behind this announcement. The departure hall is supposed to be enlarged by 100 m² — that’s an area of just 10 m × 10 m — and that is meant to significantly increase capacity? Anyone who has ever departed from an airport knows how cramped the situation becomes when two aircraft are being handled at the same time. These 100 m² are simply not sufficient.
ReplyDeleteFurthermore, there is still only one security screening line instead of two. There is also no indication of the latest carry-on baggage scanners that would allow passengers to take liquids onto the aircraft.
+1
