Ohrid Airport terminal building

The overhaul and expansion of Ohrid Airport is continuing to advance with some 65% of all work already completed. The departures area, which is being expanded by 100 square metres, is currently 85% complete. One remaining section is still under construction and will feature glass walls and a glass roof. The new check-in counters have already been installed and are fully operational. The new baggage handling system has also been installed, with part of the system already in operation. New offices for operational staff within the security-restricted area, covering 270 square metres, are in an advanced stage of construction, with works 62% complete. The expansion of the administrative building, is nearly complete at 95%. The building will increase in size from 290 square metres to 746 square metres and all work is expected to be finished in the next two months.

Commenting on the construction progress, the CEO of airport operator TAV Macedonia, Nejat Kurt, said, “I would like to emphasise that while construction works are ongoing, airport operations continue uninterrupted. Flights and passenger services are running smoothly despite the extensive reconstruction activities. This reconstruction project, in which TAV Macedonia is investing 2.7 million euros, will give Ohrid Airport a completely new look and significantly enhance the passenger experience by providing greater comfort, efficiency and convenience. It will also create better working conditions for our employees and institutional partners, including the Police and Customs authorities. The modernisation of Ohrid Airport will further position the Ohrid Lake region and Macedonia as one of Europe's most attractive and accessible tourist destinations”.

Nobody ask you do you like it or not as first
Second it is about expansion the available space and to get more usable space , it is not question of luxury design ;)

I really think it’s great that investment is being made in the airport, as this has been overdue for a long time. However, when I read the figures regarding the expansion, I don’t quite understand the rationale behind this announcement. The departure hall is supposed to be enlarged by 100 m² — that’s an area of just 10 m × 10 m — and that is meant to significantly increase capacity? Anyone who has ever departed from an airport knows how cramped the situation becomes when two aircraft are being handled at the same time. These 100 m² are simply not sufficient.
Furthermore, there is still only one security screening line instead of two. There is also no indication of the latest carry-on baggage scanners that would allow passengers to take liquids onto the aircraft.

What is expected is to be more space and efficient operations and more available space for passengers to feel more comfortable during their trip, the point is not about the design my friend!
