NEWS FLASH
Air Serbia has expanded its business class catering offer on long haul flights by offering ice cream for the first time as part of its onboard dessert options. Developed in cooperation with the Belgrade-based ice cream chain GRAM, the new ice cream was inspired by the “orasnica”, a traditional Serbian walnut cookie. The dessert has become part of the carrier’s long haul catering offer on flights to New York, Chicago, Shanghai and Guangzhou from October 1. The airline said the new product forms part of its efforts to further develop the premium passenger experience on its longest services. Air Serbia’s Head of Marketing and Guest Experience, Bojana Knežević, said, “We work continuously on improving the products and services in order to provide the best and most pleasant travel experience to passengers. By introducing the ice cream inspired by the Orasnica, we further expand the gastronomic offer for the business class, and we also showcase another authentic flavour that Air Serbia is known for”. Business class passengers can order the ice cream at any point during their flight as part of Air Serbia’s dine on demand catering concept.

That's cool
ReplyDeleteThis is grat offer, especially in the summer months.
ReplyDeleteYawn, plenty of airlines, even EUROPEAN offer this in economy.
Delete^ ok, keep yawning.
DeleteCan you give some examples? Which European companies are offering this in Economy?
DeleteDon't know about European airlines but US carriers have been doing this for decades in economy.
Delete^ and now they do it on JU. Ypu amd 14.43 fuming about it is hilarious.
DeleteWhy don't they offer it in the cheap seats
Delete@16:15 - personal experience from this year -
DeleteAer Lingus DUB - ORD -DUB , DUB - JFK - DUB.
Lufthansa FRA - HKG, LAX - MUC
ice-cream offered in Economy class
Examples are requested for claim made in comment at 14:43
Delete...for European routes.
Delete@17:04 +1
Deleteusing various search engines/AI...I found that only 3 European companies are offering ice cream on long haul flights: Aer Lingus, KLM and Brussels Airlines. Nothing about Lufthansa, not even on their website (only Brussels Airlines mentioned). So, if Air Serbia is the 4th European airline to offer this - I really don't know why anyone is complaining. If you don't like it, then skip flying with JU and that's it.
DeleteThe discussion is about economy class, which somebody said occurs on intra-European economy which is clearly not correct. As a business class desert this is isn't that good, especially in a paper tub, but if its an option or an additional snack then its fine.
DeleteI never got any icecream on Lufthansa, only a fruit yogurt in an overinflated cup that is about to burst, which made me conclude that those planes probably don’t have fridges onboard.
DeleteEveryone loves ice cream. Nice touch but biz class long haul catering overhaul is needed, based on personal experience.
ReplyDeleteThey can always take a look at and eventually copy Croatia Airlines, regional leader, with their cardbord boxes and teethbreaking crackers 🤣🤣🤣
DeletePIR: OU Business Class Cardboxes are the joke of the industry. 🙈🙉
DeleteAirSerbia should found it's own proper catering department and start producing it's own food!
ReplyDeleteI don't want to be mean, but I hope that ice cream is served as well as a proper desert on a business class flight? It doesn't look very classy.
ReplyDeleteIt's an ADDITIONAL option on the dessert menu. Read the article. Only selth loathing Balkanoids are seething.
DeleteI got served ice cream on a business jet and was served exactly like that. Proper deserts are also served by Air Serbia in long haul business class, together with cheese and fruit plate and selection of cookies. You may want to upgrade your travel class.
DeleteI'm good. not something i wish to pay for.
DeleteSuccessful people think it's worth it.
DeleteSad it is not Crna Ovca
ReplyDeleteNot sure the addition of ice cream in business class is worth an article on this portal, but I nonetheless got curious about this orasnica flavor. Since I won't by flying JU long haul in business any time soon, I wonder if this is available elsewhere to buy?
