NEWS FLASH
Low cost carrier Vueling will reduce frequencies on its Rome Fiumicino - Split route this summer. The airline plans to operate either three or four weekly flights between the two cities throughout the season, depending on the month. This represents a cut of between four and six weekly rotations compared to last summer, when Vueling operated between seven and ten weekly services on the route. Further schedule adjustments remain possible.
The reduction will be offset by increased frequencies on Vueling’s Barcelona - Split service during the peak season, as well as the recently announced launch of a new route between Bilbao and Croatia’s second-largest city. However, the airline’s off-peak operations outside of June, July and August will remain below 2025 levels.

Vueling is slashing their base in Rome and Split was one of the last standing non-Spanish routes with Dubrovnik, Paris and Mykonos.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if their schedule is final? Seems odd that they had 3 weekly Ljubljana flights in December but they scheduled only one weekly October
ReplyDeleteThey certainly have not finalised schedules for next winter.
DeleteIt seems not a week goes by without hearing about flight reductions to the Croatian coast. It seems the novelty wore off - now the challenge is to upgrade and improve the services, not just the prices, to keep people returning. Same as in SLO.
ReplyDeletePeople are going to countries with perceived better value for money
DeleteCroatia has record tourist numbers year after year, and air passenger numbers are growing year after year.
DeleteThat will make Eurowings happy. Believe it or not, but AirportIS data shows considerable transfer volumina for Croatian cost to Barcelona via Düsseldorf and Stuttgart.
ReplyDeletethey are slashing Rome not Barcelona
DeleteThere were for sure passengers who flew from Barcelona to croatian coast via FCO, everything with VY. Less FCO to SPU flights, more passengers on EW via STR and DUS. That's what I believe 15.07 meant
