Montenegro’s busiest airport, Tivat, expects to see further passenger growth this summer with some forty airlines set to operate flights between May and September. A total of 3.171 flights are scheduled to run during the peak summer season, which is 3% more than the same period last year. This summer, the Ukrainian market is set to see a resurgence with 9% more operations planned, while operations between Belarus and Tivat will soar by 167% compared to the same period last year. Previously, Air Moldova announced it would launch flights between Chisinau and Tivat this summer. The largest aircraft which will jet in to the city this year will be the Boeing 767. In 2014, Tivat Airport handled 910.533 passengers, the bulk of which came in July and August. It is now the former Yugoslavia’s eighth busiest airport, ahead of Sarajevo and Podgorica.
