Europe’s largest carrier will launch a new two weekly service from Hahn to Niš Constantine the Great Airport starting January 13, 2020. It will compete directly against Air Serbia on the route. The development comes just a month after the budget airline announced a new service from Malta to Niš, starting this November. “Niš consumers and visitors can now book their holidays on six twice weekly winter routes to Berlin Schonefeld, Bratislava, Frankfurt Hahn, Malta, Milan Bergamo, and Stockholm, as far out as March 2020, enjoying even lower fares and Ryanair’s customer care improvements”, the company said in a statement. DeleteSo Frankfurt region will have flights on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. With both JU and FR offering competitive one way fares I am sure passengers will have maximum flexibility, not just from Nis but the wider region!

DeleteWell 14 weekly is two rotations a day so they are not far from justifying a base, they need an additional 7 frequencies which isn't that bad.

DeleteIf it supported the idea of FR in MBX (as they support 4K and JP) it would have been very important for regional tourism of that part of Slovenia especially if we know that Ljubljana, Graz, Klagenfurt or Zagreb do not have LCC traffic developed on their airports.

That's really not that many flights to Berlin, I expected more. I guess Bulgarians did not emigrate that much to Berlin.

Bulgarians emigrated mainly to Spain and UK.

ReplyDeleteWe were told new management will close down the airport because of Vinci at Belgrade and that Air Serbia came to Nis to kick out Wizz and Ryan. Nis airport is growing and Ryan is now doing the opposite by adding Malta and Hahn! Someone was lying to us.

ReplyDeleteYou land in HHN at 23:50 on Friday night, and considering Hahn is not your destination, you cannot be anywhere else before 01:00.
Coming back, you need to be at the airport at 05:00, that means you should depart Frankfurt say, at 03:00.
With having to book 3 nights and actually spend 48 hours,I just don't see anyone would use this for tourism purposes.
Maybe it can work for gastos, but the schedule is really lame.
What do you expect, it's a low cost company. The aircraft need to fly to make money, which means they have to fly most of the day, so in this case the aircraft will land from somewhere in HHN at midnight. It just happens to be from INI.
