NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia will upgrade its systems for passenger sales and check-in this weekend, which will cause some planned interruptions to normal services provided by the airline. The new system will improve Air Serbia’s service capability in a number of areas, including its website, bookings process, and check-in procedures. All flights and airport check-in counters will operate as normal and the system upgrade will in no way impact the on flight operations. However, on Saturday April 22 purchasing tickets and bookings (online, through the call centre or travel agents) will be unavailable. Furthermore, passengers will be unable to check-in online or change or cancel a booking. These services will resume on Saturday evening. Air Serbia has described the upgrade as a "step change" in its business. By migrating to Sabre’s software, the carrier will be able to streamline daily operations, reduce operating costs, strengthen revenue generation and retailing, and drive more ancillary revenue opportunities, enabling it to provide passengers with a more personalised service.

imho - refurbishments are not that problematic (wifi installment was probably more complicated), plus they are more likely to get 3rd party to do it for them. this transition thing is complex as hell and mostly done internally

Will they join the MYidtravel portal as EY, AZ and AB parteners allready do?

One more sucker from JU - JU introduces airport check-in fee

Check-in fee for economy class guests with T, E, U and V fare levels
The extra fee will apply to all guests who have not checked in through airserbia.com and intend to do so at the check-in counters at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport. This service will be charged for each guest, for tickets purchased from 22 April 2017 for flights from 1 June 2017.
The price for checking in at Nikola Tesla airport will be €30 per guest.

This is sad, a move in the wrong direction. Passengers flying on an airline want a hassle free experience. This is definitely not the way to do it.
Air Serbia was such a great airline and then in a year it was totally destroyed...

@ 6.27 Well I guess if your value for money is sitting in dirt then good for you. Believe me that was the last time I flew with Wizz Air. But I did give them a go. They may as well offer a free flight, not taking them again. It wasn't just cleanliness it was other things too and the ticket was far from low cost level cheap.

Whoever has an issue with this - the answer is very simple:

    1. Buy a higher level fare and you avoid the charge
    2. Checkin online and you avoid the charge
    3. You don't like it, then fly with someone else

I was looking far and wide for an explicit definition of what defines an LCC.

Oddly enough, there really isn't anything that clearly puts anyone explicitly in that box.

You have legacy full service carriers adopting tactics usually the purview of LCCs and the reverse, with traditional LCCs adopting the ways of legacy carriers.

So i guess what it says is that you take whatever you think will work for you and that defines who are and what you stand for

BA also offer an extensive network from london's most convenient and busiest airports, a world class terminal, a plethora of lounge options for its corporate customers, flight frequencies at peak times, frequent flyer and status points important when travelling internationally or on partner airlines. Please remind me what JUs customer value proposition will be moving forward with the introduction of these new initiatives?

JU also offers an extensive network from Serbia's most convenient and busiest airport to the most number of direct points from Belgrade, a state of the art lounge for its corporate customers, flight frequencies at peak times, frequent flyer and status points important when travelling internationally or on partner airlines. Free movie and music streaming direct to your own device, wifi and sms/telephone service inflight, as well as free food and beverages, incl alcohol. Does that remind you of what JUs customer value proposition is not just going forward, but now ?

Are you seriously implying that JU and BA can be compared? Also, shall we speak of JU's schedule which is all over the place due to the fact that it's split between morning and evening departures.

Also, I suppose you've never visited a single lounge if you consider JU's as state of the art.

Let me also remind you that BA has actually invested in its premium product while JU will be doing the exact opposite.

He took a break a month or two but is back now. Well known here. Next comment will be "you are seeing ghosts". That's his reply whenever people relise it's the same person. And let me tell you I highly doubt it has anything to do with the airline itself. He has an issue with the second part of their name.

eto kako su LCC osujetili pokusaj formiranja jedne konvencionalne kompanije. konacno JU ce gubiti sve vise danasnjih putnika i lagano ce otici u zaborav ili u najboljem slucaju postati deo nekog krupnijeg projekta kao u slucaju JP i OU - Eurowings. ponavljam LCC su najvece zlo civilnog vazduhoplovstva.

If LCCs are the worst thing in aviation, then why is their growth outstripping that of legacy airlines ?

if they were what you say they are, then you wouldn't have so many legacy airlines copying their tactics, or rushing to launch their own LCCs.

You're just a dinosaur stuck in a bygone era
