EX-YU airspace sees increased traffic amid Ukraine war

Overflights above countries of the former Yugoslavia have increased following the closure of Ukraine's airspace due to the evolving conflict with Russia. Flights such as those by Singapore Airlines from western Europe, as well as British Airways' operations to Southeast Asia are now flying over the former Yugoslavia as a number of countries issue notice to airmen, banning them from flying into Ukrainian, and parts of Belarusian and Russian airspace. The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) said Ukraine's skies and airspace in Russia and Belarus within 100 nautical miles of borders with Ukraine could pose risks.
