Serbia’s Prime Minister, Djuro Macut, has met with the management of the country's Civil Aviation Directorate, with the two sides discussing proposed amendments to the regulations governing foreign airlines, which Wizz Air says could force the closure of its Belgrade base. In a statement, the Directorate noted, “During the meeting, the two officials explored opportunities to further improve the regulatory framework, strengthen international cooperation and support the development of air transport, with particular focus on proposed amendments to the regulations governing the flight approval process. They also discussed the impact of the proposed changes on airlines, with the aim of enhancing the efficiency of the regulatory system, maintaining the highest safety standards and creating more favourable conditions for the continued development of civil aviation”. For his part, the Prime Minister noted, “The development of air transport is of strategic importance to Serbia's economic growth, the strengthening of its tourism potential and the enhancement of the country's international connectivity”.

DeleteAt least they were talking abou them. With a good reason.
Because they are used to have advantage in every market. They want special conditions, subsidies, low or abolish taxes, base planes and everything they need in order to make some profit. And then they can reduce/cut flight or close base whenever they want to, without any penalties. That's why they are called Pink Sheriff

DeleteGood luck Wizz! Even though I am not big fan of you, and avoid flying with you, I found you very useful for keeping JU prices reasonable. Thanks for it! Once the whole situation fix, hope to see you grow and make JU fight back and grow as well. Passengers should be above everything!

DeleteI'm not a fan as in "I have a Wizz Air" toy plane on my desk, but I look to them first when I need to travel. A force of habit which they've well earned. Over the years they've established themselves as a more or less punctual, reputable airline that I've hardly ever had any problems with. Their pricing is transparent, they fly new machines, they employ lots of people in Serbia, they are good for our market. Let's hope they continue to grow.

DeleteGod bless Wizz! I need them to fly cheap and often. Air Serbia whom I do love is just TOO expensive. Bloody will be similar to Air Canada's monopy if Wizz base leaves... More competition in BEG is always better for the Serbian CONSUMER. (The only person that should matter!)
