The Slovenian government has reiterated its support for the establishment of nonstop scheduled year-round service between Ljubljana and Tel Aviv as the two countries seek to strengthen political and economic ties. Following talks between Slovenian Foreign Minister Tone Kajzer and his Israeli counterpart Gideon Saar in Slovenia last week, the government said a nonstop air link between the two cities would make an important contribution to closer economic and people-to-people relations, adding that it has strongly advocated for the service since taking office. Israir currently maintains seasonal flights between Tel Aviv and Ljubljana from May through to October.

The government also highlighted the potential for further growth in tourism between the two countries. Around 29.000 Israeli tourists visited Slovenia in 2025, an increase of 11% on the previous year. Slovenia said it sees significant opportunities to further increase tourism flows and encourage travel in both directions.
