Bids for the purchase of a majority stake in Slovenia’s national carrier, Adria Airways, are expected by the end of August, according to unofficial but reliable sources, the “Finance Business Daily” reports. A call for expressions of interest for a 91.6% stake in the company was made earlier this month. This is the second attempt at selling Adria, after an international call for bids published in August 2012 failed. During the first half of the year, Adria Airways handled 549.272 passengers, an increase of 15% compared to the same period in 2014. Sources close to the privatisation process note that some interest has already been shown in the carrier.
