SAS dumping Duborvnik and Split
SAS Scandinavian Airlines, the national carrier of Norway, Sweden and Denmark has cancelled its seasonal summer line from Stockholm to Dubrovnik, which was scheduled to commence on July 1. The news comes as SAS cancels a further 19 destinations inside Europe, most of which originate from Norway (Oslo more precisely). The airline is currently experiencing financial instabillity and is restructuring the company in order to reduce costs. SK1837/38 was to operate once a week to and from Dubrovnik using the MD80. The airline will also cancel its service from Stockholm to Split from October 4, 2009.

Some major services the airline will end are from Oslo to Madrid, Warsaw and Venice as well as Stockholm to Hamburg. Those wishing to travel to Dubrovnik from Scandinavian cities will be able to do so using other charter airlines which will commence seasonal summer flights.
