Skywings spreads its wings

Skopje – Brussels and a hotel

The Macedonian based Skywings International Airlines, which has taken over the bulk of MAT Macedonian Airlines’ passengers, has begun operating 2 weekly flights from Skopje to Brussels. The service, which was inaugurated on Monday, will also operate every Friday using the airline’s sole Boeing B737-300. A return ticket will set passengers back 300 Euros. The airline operates scheduled flights to Istanbul, Zurich and Dusseldorf and plans to add another Boeing B737-300 to its fleet this December.

The airline has also unveiled a 500.000 Euro investment in the construction of a hotel near Skopje's Alexander the Great Airport. The chairman of the Skywings board of directors, Ajan Dzaferoski, announced the ambitious plan on Monday, during the inaugural flight to Brussels. Dzaferoski stressed that the construction of the hotel is set to begin March next year. Construction work is scheduled to be completed by June 2010. The project envisages a 20 room hotel, which will also accommodate the crew of Skywings International. The airline's headquarters will also be based at the hotel.

The airline will inaugurate flights to Rome this Sunday and flights to Bergamo will begin on November 10. Bookings are only available via the tour operator Airlift Service.

First of all, the airline name is Airlift Service and tour operator is Skywings International. Second, they have not Germans crew and third they have so many outstanding debts that there is no shining future. When a airline starts getting into debts without cover of their debts it couldn't be good.
Anyway I wish them good luck!!

It is good that there is a new airline to transport the majority of Macedonian citizens. Skywings however should expect heavy competition in the future from Aeromak and possibly Adria.Does anyone know what is to become of MAT's Boeing 737 500 and their crj 900 will they be transfered to another airline.

The CRJ has already gone to another airline during the summer.

The 737-500 is still parked in Belgrade

Aeromak will never get off the ground

Skywing €300 Skopje-Brussels? You won't be around for long on that sort of rip-off pricing.

dont diss the hotel because it'll cost all of half a million euros to build. it could be a fine lil place, donkey service to your room, some fat guy with bad body odour and a cigarrette in his mouth brining you your amenities and bags to your room...lol

well i generall not really much hope for this airline, if you open their website www.skywings.info'
first problem is you can not choose proper language all of them mixed/ Macedonian/English/Albanian/German
    i do not like this.
then it comes to high prices for the flights!

    good luck anyway.
hope Wizz Air Macedonia will be launched soon :)

the whole website is amateurish. looks like another "i would like have an airline"-story with non-professional background.
wizzair macedonia is the only good solution for macedonian travellers

what is wrong with you people and wizz air? lets open up Ryan Air Macedonia and easyJet Macedonia....retarts.

the funny thing is the albanian version has more done to it than the macedonian, considering its a macedonian airline...not a very good site.

    @jatbegmel
nobody wants to "open up" wizzair macedonia, we were just expressing our wish to see wizzair fly to macedonia. if you misunderstand this, then you should be careful calling us "retarDs" (btw, it is written with D, einstein!)

Reading the comments I can only realize that Macedonians are real idiots. Instead of welcoming a new airline and be happy to have our own company , I am reading a rows full with scrap written from the low level people searching for a low cost companies. They think Wizz air will offer cheap price. It is easy to calculate 20 euro x 100 pax seats = 2000 euros. The amount is not enough to cover the expense of one bus to Zagreb for example. It is enough from me. buy buy

you may be right, macedonian passengers should be positive and look forward to see skywings grow. but if you know about this business in ex-yu and do not belong to skywings, then you will know that this airline is no real airline and I will be very, very surprised if the company succeeds. there will never be a hotel at the airport and there will never be any more planes.it is not about "lower lever people", it is about experiences with such "airlines" . anyway, i wish them luck...
