Jat boosts Croatia service

More flights from Belgrade to Croatia
Jat Airways is making further changes to its upcoming seasonal flights to the Croatian coast. The airline has increased the number of weekly flights from Belgrade to Dubrovnik to three per week, from the original two flights planned. The service from Belgrade to Dubrovnik turned out to be successful for the airline when they were resumed last year after a twenty year suspension. Furthermore, Jat is expected to be the sole operator on the route in 2012 as Croatia Airlines is unlikely to resume the flights, although no firm decision has been made yet. The revised details for the service, which launches June 15, can be found here.

The Serbian carrier has also made changes to its two weekly Pula service, which is now set to begin on June 2 rather than a month later as originally planned. Flights to Split, which will be resumed after 21 years remain unchanged and are set to be inaugurated on July 3.

Back in 1963
Besides flights to Croatia, Jat will be operating seasonal flights to London Gatwick and Ohrid this summer. It is unsure whether the airline will resume its seasonal flights to Girona in Spain which it launched over the summer of 2011, proving popular with passengers. Jat plans to operate its 2012 summer network with 13 out of its 14 member fleet.

    On a side note, Malev released its summer schedule. Belgrade is reduced from 9 weekly flight to 7 while Zagreb will go from 19 to 18.

    Happy to see that JAT is becoming more and more frequent in Croatia. Would be nice for a daily all year flight between BEG and Croatia, not just seasonal. Would be nice to see OU return to BEG as well.

    As well, according to blic.rs, one JAT a/c is held back in CDG, on claim is that there were cracks on the wing, the other is unpaid fees.

    Dopredsjednik Vlade g. Radimir Čačić je za davanje koncesije Francuzima. Prethodna vlada je ocijenila francusku ponudu sa 97 od 100 mogućih bodova, tj. dala joj je ekstremno visoku ocjenu. Drugi dopredsjednik Vlade g. Linić prije izbora bio je stava da tako sto nije dobro za Hrvatsku i da ako prijašnja Vlada donese odluku o koncesiji, nova će je poništiti, no više nije baš toliko negativno nastrojen. U svakom slučaju g. Čačić smatra da bi bilo glupo odbiti "dobar" prijedlog zato što postoji bolji i time izgubiti još 2-3 godine. Državi hitno trebaju investicije, Zagrebu hitno treba terminal i zato on podržava koncesiju. A svi znamo da kad Čačić nešto odluči onda će ga teško tko razuvjeriti.

    Šef komisije za procjenu natječaja je g. Bošković (zna li netko tko je ta osoba), a član je prof. Vukmir (znanstvenik koji se bavi koncesijama).

    Uzgled evo i nekoliko promišljanja ljudi koji su direktno involvirani u to:
    - ako se koncesija da Francuzima, a Francuzi ostvare svoju nakanu preuzimanja Jata (i Beograda), onda je Zagreb (i Croatia Airlines) postao satelit Beograda, doslovce mali pijunčić koji će samo servisirati Beograd i biti alat za razvoj Beograda

    - Francuzi imaju projekciju broja putnika od 8.000.000 da bi projekt bio isplativ (za usporedbu to je promet jedne Budimpešte), a koja nije optimistična, nego je znanstvena fantastika. Da bi se to ostvarilo prvenstveno bi se rast temeljio na štetu razvoja ostalih zračnih luka u Hrvatskoj (PUY, RJK, ZAD, SPU, DBV, OSI). Isto znači da će država kroz koju godinu imati još jedna problem, a to je rješavanje ovih zračnih luka, koji bi se mogao riješiti samo davanjem istih u nove koncesije.

    Naglašavam da ovo nije moj stav (iako se sa svime gore napisanim slažem), nego ljudi koji direktno sudjeluju u odluci da li koncesija ili ne.

    Purger, what makes you think that Jat is to be overtaken by the French? AF-KLM has it's hands full on expected overtaking of Alitalia in near future (current or next year) together with its huge losses. AF-KLM also eyes closely development on the UK/transatlantic market and showed preliminary interest in overtaking Virgin Atlantic.

    So Jat is far from being a top priority for AF-KLM for sure, it can be seen by overal SkyTeam's rather week presence on BEG and exYU markets, as well as its not applying on recent newco tender...

    mislim da će biti prostora za razvoj svih zračnih luka, što je dobro.

    Ali, let's be real.

    1. Rijeka ? - wtf

    2. Osijek ? - postoji autocesta do Zg-a. radije da se riješi željeznica , nego sanira besperspektivni aerodrom.

    3. Mali Lošinj ?

    4. Bol - OK,jer je turistički otok - radije tamo uložiti i produžiti pistu

    5. Pula - isključivo charteri i low costeri

    6. Zadar - isto kao i Pula


    Radije investirati u luke za hidroavione kako bismo poboljšali dostupnost otoka stanovnicima, a najviše turistima.

    8 mil. nije znanstvena fantastika, jer to je predviđeno za 2033.

    JAT will not fly to Tripoli this year and Malta is questionable. Most probably flights to Malta will cover only peak tourist season.

    As of this midnight Spanair will cease all operations. I guess no flights on them from Serbia and Croatia this coming summer. Shame to see another airline go belly up.

    On wikipedia you can read
    "Spanair WAS a spanish airline"
    and that today is last day of
    service .
    It is true in summer they also flew
    to Zagreb !
    They codeshared with TAP to
    Lissabon .

    What a pity for Belgrade airport.

    Spanair is the second airline with very good loads to/from BEG which
    has to cease operation because of external factors.
    Dont forget that JK flights were
    very succesful and that Air Baltic had nearly 90% loadfactor!

    Dont think that Jat can compensate for that loss.
    When i think for an alternative then Wizzair comes in my mind!
    An opportunity they dont get so early again...hope they have a plan B in regard of their Belgrade base.
