Air Croatia ready for takeoff

Newcomer Air Croatia is preparing to launch flights from Sweden to Croatia this June with ticket sales to begin next Monday. ČSA Czech Airlines will operate on behalf of Air Croatia this summer with flights to be launched from Gothenburg to Zagreb and Split with an Airbus A319. Services will operate on a regular basis, every Saturday, starting June 14. Further details for the Gothenburg - Zagreb service can be found here with additional information on the Split flights available here. Services from Stockholm to the Croatian capital, as well as Split, will be inaugurated in October. “Plans are to expand operations to all year round on Saturdays, once per week, from Gothenburg and Stockholm to Split and Zagreb in October”, the airline said in a statement.

In addition to the abovementioned routes, Air Croatia will operate charters from Gothenburg to Dubrovnik and Pula. Furthermore, Denim Air will fly smaller groups and charters from Sweden and Norway to Dubrovnik and Zadar on behalf of Air Croatia and the airline will also cooperate with another Croatian newcomer, Adriatic Skyways, on domestic flights within the country. Air Croatia also hopes to set up flights from Zagreb to Tel Aviv from June through to September as well as services from Southern Italy to Dubrovnik in cooperation with Italian tour operators.

Air Croatia will operate on a low cost basis. Food, coffee, tea, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase on board. Passengers will be able to check-in twenty kilos of luggage free of charge. In essence, Air Croatia is a Swedish tour operator specialising in holiday packages to Croatia which will lease a Czech Airlines aircraft and crew. Air Croatia will be the only airline offering direct flights from Zagreb to Stockholm and Gothenburg.

An 8th year would create a better logo than this... looks like back in the 70-80s

I wonder if this airline would be established if Croatia Airlines had its own flights to Sweden (scheduled ones). I am sure they could have spared at least one A319 for two weekly flights to Stockholm and one weekly flight to Gothenburg. Heck, they could have even launched one of those triangular routes. They are not very popular, or cheap, but it would be better than no flights at all.

If I had to guess, I would say that it will not take long before they establish a base in Zagreb with at least one aircraft there. I hope this airline survives, somehow I like them.

Still don't understand how Croatia Airlines doesn't fly to Sweden?!?! There must be a market for flights from Croatia.

    1. Anonymous16:33

Of course there is a market for flights from Croatia to Sweden. The answer to your question is : SAS, Norwegian and Ryanair fly on regular flights with approximation of 3 DAILY flights between the two countries. Plus numerous charters. All these companies have better business models and better management than OU, and therefore there is simply no more space left for OU in that market. Their market share is about 0,5% with CPH transit passengers on their daily flights.

It will be really interesting to see how all these new airlines - Air Croatia, Adriatic Skyways, maybe even Libertas sometime in the future will affect Croatia Airlines. Air Croatia seems serious to open year long flights

Maybe then the goverment will understand that this Ceo Mr. Kucko in not good enough for OU .Because if he stays Ceo it will be the end of OU.

JU to launch BEY on June 1, 2014.

Dakle nije reč o bezbednosti, političkoj nestabilnosti i ratu, kako rekoše prvi put, nego o administrativnim problemima i neprofesionalnosti Air Serbije da reši admnistrativne začkuljice. Lele, bre, sramote.

I still cant believe that they are seriously calling passengers "guests", and in Serbian it sounds soooo funny, especially when in the first part of the text it is passengers and in the second it is guests.

A sramote.
