| TAP adding more flights to Belgrade this winter |
TAP Portugal, which launched services from Lisbon to Belgrade last week, will continue operating to the Serbian capital throughout the winter season with additional flights, as well as a stop in Budapest on selected days. The Portuguese carrier, linking the two cities for the first time in history, is satisfied with the route’s performance and advanced bookings so far. It will introduce an additional flight between the two at the start of the 2014/15 winter season, from October 26. As a result, the airline will operate a total of four weekly flights between Lisbon and Belgrade, with services running each Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Triangle flights via Budapest will be introduced on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Passengers flying out from the Portuguese capital to Belgrade on Tuesdays will endure an intermediate stop in Budapest, while the return service will operate direct from the Serbian capital. On the other hand, flights on Wednesdays departing Belgrade will run via Budapest as the airline looks to optimise the use of its aircraft during the slow winter months.
Discussing the new route, the Portuguese Ambassador to Serbia, Augusto José Pestana Saraiva Peixoto, says, “The new route between Belgrade and Lisbon will contribute to improved political, economic and other ties and bring together two nations which are similar in many ways. As a result of this new service, Portuguese investors will come to Serbia”. The inaugural flight from Belgrade to Lisbon saw 117 passengers on board the carrier’s Airbus A319, which has the capacity to seat 132 people.
During the winter months, TAP Portugal will continue to operate flights between Lisbon and Belgrade with its A319 jet. The carrier has finalised its winter timetable and tickets are already on sale through the airline’s website. TAP won’t enjoy fifth freedom rights between Budapest and Belgrade, meaning it cannot sell tickets between the two cities and thus join Air Serbia and Belarus’ Belavia which already operate on the route. TAP has a very limited presence in the former Yugoslavia with its only other destination in the region being Zagreb, with the flights operated via Bologna in Italy.
Considrring that BEG is starting to look like a hub for transfering passengers they could coadshare with AS and offers flights from BEG to south america via Lisabon. South America is very underserved from this part of Europe
ReplyDeleteThey probably would codeshare if TAP didn't have their own flights to Bucharest, Budapest, Moscow...they could still codeshare to the region you'd say, why not, but who would benefit from that? JU would be getting peanuts while filling the already streched fleet pretty much for free.

Pozdrav svim, nov sam na ovom forum tj pratim vec duze vreme, al nisam do sada nista komentarisao, ako neko ima protiv mog srpskog vec sledeci put cu pisati na engleskom, interesuje me ako nekog ne mrzi da mi objasni koju dobit imaju avio komapnije codeshare-om, naplatom karata, transferom itd, ako nekog ne mrzi nek mi otkuca bas me zivo interesuje kako to funkcionise.
DeleteLogicno je da se isputuje trziste pre nego sto pocnu letovi! Air Serbia otvara dosta destinacija gde je vec uspostavljena linija! Zasto se neiskoriste ovakve destinacije, poput Barcelone, Madrid, Lisabon itd.?Te Linije nebi morale da budu svakodvenve ali mislim da bi mozda bili barem isto ili malo bolje uspesnije nego neke linije! dali se zna LF Air Serbia prema novim linijama poput Varna, Sofia,Varsacam Split,Pula, Dubrovnik?

DeleteHas anybody some news or rumors about Air Serbia plan to expand their fleet. It's nice to hear that foreign carriers are coming to BEG airport, but the Air Serbia expansion has slow down. I believe that they need 2 or 3 ATRs in their fleet for regional destinations (Zagreb, Ohrid, etc), also maybe add 3-4 A319 to open destinations like Madrid, Hamburg, Barcelona, Saint Petersburg, Munich, and maybe one or two A320s for some destinations (Moscow, Paris, London ).

ReplyDeleteMy friend flew from BEG to Latin America last week with TP. He said the flight from BEG was nearly full. Most pax transiting onwards to West Africa and Latin America via LIS.

Very impressive results, growth like this cant go on forever but those initial subsidies to attract a low cost carrier have been extremely effective and proved beyond doubt that SKP was massively underserved! As a reminder just 6 years ago in 2008 it had 650,000 pax for the whole year.
Of course Skopje is underutilized, 2 million people live in Macedonia, with poor connections and long road journey for most in western Europe, Aircraft is ideal easy in and out of Macedonia.
DeleteRealistically Skopje has capacity of around 6~ million pax or even more once Macedonia is in the EU and fully developed like Greece.
By 2025 I am quite certain Skopje can hit 5 million pax or even 6 million. it'll take time but you're on a good way to get there, Look at Riga, really not much there but place is packing, 5,2 million pax.
Ljubljana although very close to western European destinations, Zagreb as well, should still benefit from increased traffic, Ljubljana has potential for 5-7 million pax, Zagreb for 10-12 million, by 2030.
Correlation for Croatia is Norway, Denmark, Ireland and Finland, although Ireland and Finland really only way to get in is by Air (for the ferry and car takes too long). Slovenia should be hitting per head same number of air passengers as Austria, Italy and Germany do, so there's plenty of room for growth.

ReplyDeleteAir Serbia carried around 2.000 passengers or roughly 30 per segment. This is fantastic given that the number stood at 17 just a month ago.
Air Serbia carried around 1500 passengers, about 1000 passengers were carried by BH Airlines on routes to Zurich and Tivat
DeleteIt was about 800 passengers by B&H, their flights to Tivat have been operated once per week and the loads have been rather bad.
DeleteB&H Airlines has been rather badly hit by Air Serbia in Banja Luka. Their numbers to Zurich have gone down as there are more options with JU via Belgrade. I hope that their flights survive but they are just not competitive as things stand.
DeleteCuo sam da je poslednjih dana ju puna krcata iz abu dabija. Australijanci ka evropi i nasi iz australije ka regiji. Kad se setim pre 30 i vise godina direktnih letova za sidnej, bangkok, singapur, peking.. kao da ovo nije taj isti narod..

And in winter, it's 3 weekly via Bologna. Was it too difficult to write that as well?
ReplyDeleteGlad to see TP staying in BEG throughout the year and expanding its presence. I guess this tells a lot about the potential of this route that offers many connections within Iberian peninsula, West Africa, South America and even the US. TAP now also serves MIA. I am hoping that JU launches flights to MAD soon. They could maybe codeshare with IB to enable passengers better connectivity between the JU and IB networks.

Bože moj ti nisi ni svestan svoje nesvesti! A svakakvih likova ovde... Što ne odeš da se igraš sa autičima i drugarima? Što baš moraš da budem među nama matorcima? Nije ti to cool.
Dosadni ste sa madridom. Leteo je spanair i to samo pre 3 god. Prosek je bio katastrofalan. Negde oko 30 putnika na svakom letu na a320. Barselona je nesto drugo i to je velika greska air srbije. Imala bi odlicne rezultate. Nije mi jasno zasto ne leti za bcn. A jace destinacije iz beg-a od mad-a su i: mancester, hamburg, bolonja pa cak i otkazani geteborg. Poslednjih godina i oslo je postao znacajan i beograda. Prema tome dosta vise o madridu. To je kao da pisete da bi ju trebalo da leti za obalu slonovace. Nema nista od madrida.. hellooooo.. pa mi ne mozemo da ostvarimo ni 2 dnevna do londona!!!!

Nepravim se pametan nego komentarisem ko i drugi. Daj bre malo spusti loptu, iskreno počinješ neviđeno da smaraš ljude, kad vidim ovo INN na kraju, čak ni ne čitam komentare jer se svode na "mama mi je spremačica u Austrijanu, čula je direktora kad priča ovo ono..."

DeleteČoveče pa koji je to lik koji sedi 3 kancelarije od nekoga? Portir, referent nabave WC papira, ili možda tehničar za kalkulaciju utovara cargo paleta. Moja žena je 4 kancelarije od direktora NIS-a pa radi plate. I ako se ona smeje za OMV Srbije što to znači? De prestani da smaraš dete!
As someone have said during Summer Zagreb AND Belgrade flights are NONSTOP and ONLY SOME will have connections in Winter. TAP should also be flying to Sarajevo soon.
