Korean Air adds Zagreb codeshare flights

Korean Air has added its designator code and flight numbers onto Czech Airlines' recently launched service between Prague and Zagreb. As a result, the Korean carrier will offer connections from Seoul to Zagreb via Prague four times per week. Korean has a 44% stake in its Czech counterpat. As previously reported, on May 20, Korean Air resumed summer charters between the South Korean and Croatian capitals. A total of eleven flights will operate during the summer (May, June, September and October) with an Airbus A330 aircraft. Last year, South Korea and Croatia signed a bilateral air agreement which should lead to the establishment of scheduled services between the two countries. The Korean Embassy in Zagreb estimates that over 350.000 Koreans visited Croatia in 2015.

    If the 350000 was spread out over the year, it could fill an A380 daily!

    I'm sure we will see (not A380) regular flights between Croatia and Korea soon.

      Very likely in 2017, Qatar Airways also might send A380 really soon.

      most of korean visitors use TK, QR and even SU flights. QR flights are successful (they are actually have a quite good LF) mostly due to this very reason - otherwise there would be very little other pax on QR flights (Australian diaspora, croatians flying from ZAG to Asian vacation destinations or for business...).

      This new OK codeshare - if proven successful - would be of great benefit to OK - maybe regularly using their ATR72s or A319 in future instead of ATR42/72-mix - but it might quickly become the grave digger for possible regular direct flights between Seoul and Zagreb! If I was responsible for ZAG airport, I would have given my best to avoid this codeshare to happen (intervene in government or similar).
