NEWS FLASH

Adria Airways plans to turn its three weekly flights from Ljubljana to Berlin, which it launched last April, into a seasonal summer service only. The flights are expected to operate until the end of October, after which they will be temporarily cancelled until next summer. Eralier this year, Adria terminated flights to Istanbul and Stockholm and cancelled plans to launch operations from the Slovenian capital to Cologne. The Slovenian carrier has seen its passenger number fall 9% from Ljubljana, which had a knock-on effect on the airport's performance. "Adria will obviously first consolidate its existing network and later consider new routes from our airport", Ljubljana Airport's Head of Airline Management, Janez Krašnja, said. Earlier this year, the Slovenian carrier was purchased by the German turnaround fund 4K Invest.

So far, the only thing the new owner has done is shrink the network (don't forget TIA-BRU and TIA-CDG). How on Earth are they planning on making money if not by transporting passengers?! By employing new people as they are doing now?!

My guess is all of these were money loosing routes. Their only objective is probably to turn a profit in the short term and they don't care how it will affect the airline in the future.

It's LH influence behind Investor 3K. Berlin is an AB hub, so they don't have interest in pushing the route.....
