NEWS FLASH

Niš Constantine the Great Airport has seen its busiest month on record this September by handling 14.662 passengers travelling on Wizz Air and Ryanair flights. It also registered 81 aircraft movements. So far this year, the airport has welcomed 65.216 travellers through its doors, which is well ahead of the 36.258 passengers handled during the whole of 2015 and 1.335 travellers in 2014. The airport is set to reveal details on the arrival of a new airline by the end of the month. Niš Airport estimates handling some 100.000 passengers this year and for the figure to grow to 300.000 by the end of 2017.

Who would have predicted this a few years ago.

I really wonder how many people who normally use SKP, SOF, or BEG have been using INI. I know of some people who travel from Novi Sad.

I think most of their business comes from Niš area and Southern Serbia. After that the rest of Serbia is next, followed by MK, KO, and BG.

Huh?? 81 aircraft movements including both landings and starts in 1 whole month - that is in average 1 start/landing per day. Does Nis not have GA and other types of air trafflc?

You mean almost 3 a day?

@Alex: No, that is 2 aircraft movements a day including starts and landings - in average 1 take off and 1 landing per day. That is as much as on a minor airfield with a 500m grass runway. That is why I was asking if the number for Nis perhaps includes only commercial traffic.

No hard feelings, Anon 9:29. But be polite or stay off this blog.
Are you sure with what you are saying? Usually such statistics do include GA etc.

Zahvaljujuci LC avio kompanijama.
Bez lou kostera ogroman broj putnika nebo ni video avion. Kamoli leteo.
Ipak otpor i u jugo istocnoj Evropi slabi u odnosu na skoru proslost. Ko ima malo novca, nikada nebo seo u avion.
