Ljubljana Airport records strong January

NEWS FLASH

Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport registered double digit passenger growth in January by handling 89.396 travellers, up 21.5%. Foreign carriers saw their numbers grow 35.7% year-on-year this January on flights to and from the Slovenian capital. "The 21.5% rise in passenger numbers represents a continuation of the positive trends seen at the end of 2016", the airport said in a statement. This year, Transavia will launch flights from Amsterdam to Ljubljana, while Adria Airways, which holds an over 60% share at Ljubljana Airport, plans to expand its operations, with Ukraine and the Middle East being considered as potential new markets.
