The parent company of the Russian Sukhoi plane manufacturer, United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), has held talks with Air Serbia and "a Slovenian carrier" over the sale of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft. UAC Vice President for Civil Aviation, Vladislav Masalov, told media at the Aero India 2017 Airshow in Bangalore on Tuesday that the company was focusing on talks with Air Serbia, a Slovenian airline and the Hungarian government, which have all expressed interest in the 108-seater aircraft. Mr Masalov noted that the company's sales program for 2017 is almost complete and added that an order for twenty of the jets would soon be concluded with Aeroflot. The first European carrier outside of Russia to operate the SSJ100 on revenue flights is the Irish regional airline CityJet, while Brussels Airlines will wet-lease some of the aircraft for a two-year period from April.
Sukhoi first approached and pitched the SSJ100 to the Serbian carrier in late 2015. A delegation from the plane manufacturer visited Serbia to hold talks with representatives from the country's aviation sector including Air Serbia, aircraft maintenance company Jat Tehnika and the Serbian Civil Aviation Directorate. Vladimir Lavrov, the Chief Designer at the Sukhoi Company, said at the time, "It is safe to say that talks with our Serbian colleagues were very successful. We found a few ideas that we will develop jointly and received a number of interesting proposals from our Serbian counterparts". Air Serbia has been on the lookout to replace its regional fleet of six ATR72 aircraft, most of which were delivered new to the carrier's predecessor in 1990.
On the other hand, Mr Masalov did not specify which Slovenian airline has been engaged in talks with UAC. Currently, Adria Airways, Aero4M, Lipican Aer and Solinair have active Air Operator Certificates issued by the country's regulator, with the latter three operating private business and cargo flights. Interest for the SSJ100 has grown in the region, with Croatia Airlines' CEO, Krešimir Kučko, recently noting that the carrier is considering the type for its regional fleet expansion, along with Embraer and Bombardier. The SSJ100 has the capacity to seat between 87 and 108 passengers, depending on cabin layout and seat configuration. It has so far racked up 370 orders and delivered 99 aircraft. In 2016, a total of twenty orders were made for the jets while no contracts have been signed so far in 2017.

By reducing the seat count on these routes they could afford to increase frequency thus improving connectivity in Belgrade.
If we take STR as an example, with the SSJ they could comfortably operate daily flights in winter while in summer they could go as high as double daily. With their current four weekly flights they can hardly be competitive when it comes to offering connecting flights.
Unfortunately, at the end of the day, I don't think we'll see a regional jet in Air Serbia's fleet any time soon.
I fully support your opinion and can add that in this very moment nobody can be sure when NEO family will come in ASL. In best scenario whole package will be prolonged and please do not ask for worst case.

Why would you even order SSJ100, when you have a reliable E190 available with reliable delivery of spare parts, well tested product that can operate in various enviroments: Cat 3b (SSJ is Cat 3a only), London City, etc.

A few updates for you people,
China Hainan Airlines will be having scheduled flights to ZAG very soon.
If ZAG airport play there cards right then we should see an Air Canada Rouge scheduled service starting next season.
Air Transit could bring in a third flight to Croatia next season. It's unclear yet if it will be Toronto to Dubrovnik, or Montreal to Zagreb.
The new ZAG -JFK route is still on the table, waiting for the official launch any day now which will have a tag on to another EU city.
Also EK should introduce a A380 Dubai-Zagreb-trans Atlantic scheduled service to the United States in the near future.
We also have a good chance to see a Delta Airlines high season scheduled service from ZAG-ATL.
Even American Airlines are poking around a Newark-Zagreb high season service.
Can cruise 1,630 ft higher at 41,000ft. Can reach a 1 knot (1 mph) higher max. cruise speed at 448 knots (515 mph). Outputs 5,460 fewer lbf of thrust at 34,540 lbf. Is 17,260 lbs lighter at 93,740 lbs. Seats 8.5 fewer passengers at 98 passengers. Has a 0.36 ft taller cabin at 6.96ft.
In regards of SSJ for JP: no thanks, we are happy with Bombardier
My point is that ASL does need smaller aircraft than A319/320 but SSJ must not be an option.

A kad ono dolazi Air New Zealand double daily za Zagreb?
Do sada to nisu.
srece. Naravno, Er Srbija ih detaljnije posmatra. Pa kako odluci. Osalo je irelaventno. Ukljucujuci mene na ovom forumu.

Zagreb fees are to high for Virgin Galactic.

Hahahahhahaha! Great one!
When is the leasing contract ending for ALT, ALU and ALV?
If the price is right and appropriate tech support provided I don't see any issue, it is much better than the ATR and definitively can be used on routes that are not that full for A319.
Non of western company (exempt tinny insignificant one) has SSJ in fleet. It mast be shit!
Is there any concidence they were the first airline to order SSJ with a 4-year silence until another Russian airline ordered it? Does it also surprise you they were the first to order Irkut MC-21?

The sheer fact airlines like AF and SN are willing to be associated with an airliner such as the SSJ only goes to show that it's not such a bad aircraft after all.
There is a reason why they never leased Tu-154s or the Tu-134s but have no problem getting the SSJ.

Kupovali američku i evropsku robu, uključujući i Boinge ATRove koju danas u JU floti.
You're working on that project?

For the sake of success of JU, I hope they will not decide for a Russian built aircraft. JUs biz model pretty much depends on western europe transit travellers. And in the west still a fundamental opposition against Russia and Russian made aircraft exists
Can only recommend JU to opt for Embraer, Mitsubishi or Bombardier aircraft
Most passengers don't even know what aircraft they are flying on, even less so where it comes from. I am sure many wouldn't feel comfortable if they knew they were flying on a Brazilian aircraft.
Introducing the SSJ wouldn't make any difference to the passengers especially since it looks no different from its competition. After all, if Americans have no problem flying on Interjet's SSJs, why should the Europeans care?
ASL go to hybrid/low fare model this year and will shrink network for 17% YOY, they already cancel flights to IST they will cancel AUH also.
Rumor say that ASL will wet lease 3 planes to AB.
Interesting time for ASL is ahead of us.
